ALSA is a centennial Spanish company of passenger transport by road that, throughout its long existence, has seen thousands of vehicles of all imaginable types cross Spain from one side to the other. Now, trying to adapt to the current boom in the use of mobile devices, it offers its customers the possibility of book your tickets from your smartphone or tablet through the application that we analyze today.

ALSA App: A well-intentioned app, but could be improved

From the first moment, users of the ALSA application will realize that it is an application created with the best intentions in the world by the company, and designed to make it as easy as possible to buy tickets from anywhere and at any moment. However, you will also find that The result is far from what was expected.

With a dark designwhich sometimes does not make the information on the screen easy to read (especially when several trip options are shown), with problems when inserting the locations of origin and destination (“a connection error with the server has occurred”) and no trace of geolocation or use of maps (which could have been useful for the selection of routes or to increase the information about the routes), the ALSA app clearly has points for improvement.

At least, apart from these problems, the application fulfills its mission, oriented from the first moment to the purchase of tickets. The ALSA app allows the query of different routes and schedules, as well as the booking of the seats that best suit each user, in addition to saving the “favorite” locations (the most used) of each client and show the tickets already purchased. On the other hand, the company has reserved an important gap for the loyalty of its clients, through the sections dedicated to its club «Bus Plus», which has additional advantages for travelers.
