We tell you all this because at the moment it is more than usual that, in order to work better with this software, we open the links in new tabs. And it is that the usual thing is that they, when clicked, take us to another page that has nothing to do with the origin. Thus, in the event that we do this from the same eyelashwhen we want to return to the previous one, the process can become somewhat confusing or annoying.
For all this that we are discussing, in these lines we are going to show you how to always open the links in a tab. Say that these methods are valid for both Chrome and edgeor Firefox.
Open link from context menu
To begin with, we will tell you that one of the most traditional methods when carrying out what we are discussing is through the context menu of the corresponding browser. This appears when we click with the right mouse button on the link that we want to open in a new tab. Therefore, at this point, we only have to click on the chosen option. Either Open link in a new eyelashor Open link in a new tab, the choice is clear.
Of course, although effective and widely used, we will also say that this is not the fastest method to do what we are talking about.
Open in new tab with Ctrl
As we mentioned, the fact of opening a link in a new tab from the browser by clicking the right mouse button, it is not the fastest. That is why at the same time we are going to show you other proposals that do the same, in a more fluid way. To say that this is something that works in practically all of the browsers current.
With this we want to tell you that, both in Chrome and in Firefox or edge, among others, we can open a link in a new tab with the Ctrl key. Specifically, we mean that the new website will open directly in another tab by simply holding down the Ctrl key when clicking on the link with the mouse.
In this way we will see how we go to the page we wanted to go to, it opens automatically in a new tab, not in the same one as usual.
Open new tab with mouse wheel
But that is not all, but at the same time there is a system to achieve all this that we are talking about, in an even faster way. We can achieve this directly with the mouse that we have in our hand almost all the time that we we surf the internet.
With all this what we mean is that another option is to click on the link to open, but with the middle button or mouse wheel. With this, what we really achieve is that browsers understand that what we want is to open it in a new tab, something that is done instantly. Thus, as you can imagine, we will save a good amount of time on a day-to-day basis with these tricks.
Open a tab in a new browser window
But, if what we want is to open a link in a new browser window and not in a tab within the browser, we must hold down the Shift / Shift key while clicking on the link with the mouse. Opening links in another browser window and not in the one we are in, is very useful when we are looking for information on different web pages and to compare it with others by placing both browsers on both sides of the screen. If we want to keep the page that we have opened, we just have to drag the tab to the browser where we have the rest of the tabs open. If the information it shows does not interest us, we just have to close the browser by clicking on the X located in the upper right corner, just like we do with any other browser.
Open in new tab with third-party extensions
As most of you already know, although these programs offer us an increasing number of functions to use, many times they are not enough. That is why we opted to use third-party extensions that are installed in browsers to make them even more versatile. Well, for what concerns us at the moment, opening links in new tabs, we also have solutions of this type.
One of the characteristics of both browsers is the large number of extensions with which they have to increase their functions, therefore, we will also be able to use an extension or complement that offers us the possibility of always opening a link in a tab in the Web navigator.
DoubleClicker
Another interesting option that we can install as a complement in Chrome and that will allow us to create a new tab is DoubleClicker. By installing this extension, it allows us to open the link to a new tab with just a double click. So here’s an easy way to open links in new tabs by double-clicking instead of right-clicking the link and then selecting “Open link in new tab.” Of course, it does not have a version for Mozilla Firefox.
Double-click to…
This extension will allow us to control the browser more easily by establishing actions for when we double-click on any web page. In this way, it will allow us, for example, to scroll to the top of the page, close the current tab, or what interests us most, open a new tab in our browser. Of course, this extension is exclusive to Google Chrome.
Double Click New Tab
Similar to the previous one we can find this extension, yes, this time exclusively for Firefox. Its purpose is to help us navigate more simply and quickly. Once installed, what we will do is enable a new function that, if we double click on any link that we find on a website, this link will open in a new tab and begin to load in the background. In addition, it allows us to configure the speed of the double link, and even the action that we want to perform.
Open Link with New Tab
It is an extension for Firefox that allows us to open the new tab link, allowing us to follow the settings of the web page, open a launch to a different site in one tab and open all links with tabs. For this it will be necessary to carry out a correct configuration of the extension.
Once installed, we need to go to the Manage Your Firefox Extensions page and click on the three dots next to this add-on. We click on Options and select “Open a link to a different site in a tab” or “Open all links with tabs” depending on your preferences. The Open Link with New Tab extension is only available for Firefox, although in the Chrome Web Store we can find similar extensions that we have included in this compilation.
This add-on for Google Chrome allows us to add links in a new tab to obtain a list of specific domains. In this way, by using this extension we will be able to add a website so that all the links within that domain open as a new tab. Its operation is very simple, so in order to add a website so that it always opens as a new tab, we simply have to visit it and click on the extension icon.
Open Tabs Next to Current
When we are looking for information on the internet, we open a large number of tabs, tabs that if we do not close they can reach the infinitive and lose track of them. The solution to this problem, at least partially, is to use the Open Tabs Next to Current extension. Thanks to this extension, every time we open a new tab, it will be placed immediately next to the tab we are currently in. In this way we will avoid having to navigate, never rather among all the open tabs. This extension is available for both Chrome for Edge and, in addition, we can also find it for Firefox.
Tabs Outliner
Tabs Outliner records and stores all the links we click on to create an index, an index that we can modify to create new instances in the browser and order how we want the tabs to be displayed. This extension is ideal when we have to search for information on the internet and the management of the tabs that browsers do is not enough. In addition, it allows us to search the index so that it is much easier to find what we are looking for at any given time. Tabs Outliner is available for Chrome and Edge via the link below.
Close All Tabs
It is just as important to manage the tabs as to know what is the ideal moment to close all the ones that are open. Although it is true that most browsers allow us to perform this task without resorting to an extension, we do not have the same options when it comes to closing tabs as those found in the Close All Tabs extension, an extension available for Edge and Chrome from the link that we leave you below.
Open Tabs – Save trees by opening tabs
With this extension we can, they claim, reduce our environmental impact on nature by reducing the number of tabs needed to work. Every time we open a new tab, different shortcuts are shown that we can configure in addition to allowing us to add different widgets such as the time or the weather. This extension is only available for Chrome, Edge, Opera, Vivaldi, and all other Chromium-based browsers. We can download and install this extension through the following link. We will not find this extension in the Firefox extension store.
Right Click Opens Link New Tab Correct Order
One of the common problems that we are going to find in practically all browsers is the order in which the tabs open. The logical order for many users is to place the new tab that opens with a link, right at the end and not immediately after the tab in which we are. This problem has a very simple solution with the Right Click application. This extension allows us to configure the operation of our browser so that all the tabs are displayed in the order…
