- Strange behavior of our mobile: If our terminal turns off or restarts in a common way without prior warning, we have to be suspicious. Also, if applications open automatically without us wanting it, it heats up too much or the applications take too long to open, this is not something that we can consider as natural, so they may be clear signs that something strange is happening.
- Considerable decrease in autonomy: noticing a considerable decrease in its autonomy, it may be due to natural factors, such as having too much brightness, having wireless networks such as WiFi, Bluetooth or GPS activated continuously, as well as if we use intensive games. . But if this is not common and the battery lasts less and less, it is one more symptom that something inside is not right.
- Phone overheating: If you are not doing anything and you see that it is very hot (if you do not have it in the sun), you could be facing a case of an infected device. When a smartphone performs activities in the background behind the user’s back, the device’s components tend to heat up, revealing a possible infection that poses a risk to your data.
- Applications that you have not installed: One of the main things that can make you suspect that someone is spying on you is that applications appear that you don’t remember having installed. Therefore, in your mobile settings, check which applications you have, and if you find any that you have not installed, do not use, do not remember or have never used, it is best to uninstall it.
- Notifications disabled: It doesn’t hurt to check the status of your notifications, especially if you have noticed that your phone does not notify you when you have new WhatsApp, messages or at times when it should. Go to your phone’s settings and make sure these are activated and that you don’t see anything strange. Also check notifications from apps that you may suspect are spying on you, for example WhatsApp or Telegram. The other person may have removed them so you don’t know it’s on your phone. This happens a lot when they try to access your WhatsApp with applications that clone the phone to another mobile phone, but it occurs in many more cases. Activate notifications, and if you see that one alerts you to an activity that you are not doing, it is because someone is probably spying on you.
- Increased data consumption: If you notice that your cell phone consumes more mobile data than usual, it may be because there is some spy program that is sending information over the Internet without your consent. These can be photos, videos, audios, messages or any other type of file that you store on your phone. To check this, you can check the data usage of apps in your phone settings and see if there are any suspicious or unknown apps.
- Changes in settings: If you notice that your phone settings have changed without your intervention, it may be another sign that someone has accessed it and changed some options. For example, they may have turned on GPS, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, or airplane mode without your permission. You may also have changed the unlock code, wallpaper, ringtone, or language. These changes can be due to a system error or an automatic update, but they can also be a way to sabotage your phone or track your location.
- Noise or strange sounds during calls: This will be one of the clearest signs. If someone is spying on our conversations, we will hear interference or strange noises. It could be a technical failure of the network or device, but it could also be an attempt at phone spying.
- Other unusual factors: when it takes a long time to turn on or off, contacts disappear from our phonebook and new ones appear, we receive unknown and strange messages or internet data is used up more quickly.
Have you been hacked?
It is quite likely that, if you have come this far, you suspect that someone is watching what you do with your cell phone. There are several ways in which we can think that our phone is tappedwhich we must evaluate and check if the suspicions are true.
In any case, we recommend that you not only pay attention to the indications that we will give you first, but that you go further and try each of the tricks and tips that we will explain to you in detail. And it will be better to clear up doubts no matter how much we are afraid of discovering that they are really spying on us on the phone.
Although it is not easy to know 100% of whether we are being spied on with our cell phonesYes, we can guess if a terminal is being another victim with the following tricks.
Calls forwarded
There is an MMI code that allows you to identify where calls come in when they are not answered. In other words, this indicates if someone has activated call forwarding on the phone either from the smartphone itself or remotely.
To know if we have it configured we must check *#62# and you will be able to discover if your calls are being redirected to any number. If this number does nothing, you will have to follow this process:
- We access the Phone app.
- We touch on Settings.
- Locate the call forwarding and check if there is any number added that is not ours.
- We can also find it in the phone’s Settings, using the word forwarding in the search engine.
tapped phone
We can also check if our phone is being hacked through the IMEI. The easiest way to find out our serial number is to dial *#06# and a long number will appear that is our identification (something like the ID of our device). This number also usually appears on the device box itself, so if we have it on hand, just take a look at the label where the barcode appears.
If we see that at the end of our number, when we enter the code, 2 zeros appear, it means that someone would be listening to us when making calls. But it will be even worse if 3 zeros appear, a sign that in addition to listening to us they have access to our calls, messages, files and photos.
Discover espionage
The last option we have to try to detect if someone is interfering in our private conversations is to dial the code *#twenty-one# in the phone app on your mobile (as if you were making a call) and then press the call key. This set of symbols and letters will show you the status of your connections with the help of the operator to know if someone is spying on you.
It is a good way to know what is happening and act in this case. Here they may inform you that no one is spying on you or, on the contrary, you may have a surprise.
Ways to prevent your cell phone from being spied on
May we have the tapped or hacked mobile It is not common, so it is not easy for this to happen. In this way, if after the previous steps we have serious suspicions that the smartphone may be affected, the best solution does not exist, but we must trust the ones we have.
Deactivate forwarding
There is a code that, through the telephone dialer, will begin to interpret our preferences on the mobile phone so that the settings that directed our calls to other phones and, therefore, someone listens to us, are forgotten. This mechanism is done with the code **##002# then pressing the call button.
If it does not work, we can contact the operator to request that they eliminate all forwarding applied to our telephone number. You just have to find your company’s customer service number and ask for exactly what we just told you. To make it easier for you, we will tell you the main telephone numbers of the telephone companies in Spain:

Format
We can choose to delete everything on the controlled mobile phone. Although, before doing so, we recommend that you make a backup copy of your photos, videos and files and move them to another memory unit because during this process, they will be lost. Afterwards, we will continue with this procedure:
- Access your phone’s Settings.
- Choose Backup and reset.
- We look for the option Delete all data.
- When the device restarts again, configure it from scratch and you will have deleted all call forwarding and possible infected apps.
Change mobile
It is rare that after doing the previous step everything remains the same, but if you do not notice or you still suspect that someone is watching you, the most advisable and drastic thing would be to change the device so that no one can continue to have access to it. . And as the saying goes, “when the dog is dead, the rabies is over.” A quick and effective way to be more careful about who has access to your smartphone from now on.
Request another number
In case our concern is that someone is diverting calls and listening to telephone conversations, the truth is that we have a very good alternative, and without having to change our beloved smartphone for another. We will only have to modify the SIM card or even change the number, so that we can be safe. After the change, no one without access will be able to repeat the play easily.
In case you continue to have problems, and neither formatting the phone nor this method has worked for you, you should change your phone.
Precautions
So that a situation like this does not occur again we have to take into consideration a series of precautions with it. In this way we ensure that mobile hacking is not repeated and our life with technology will be calm again.
- Always update system and apps: It is the best security measure against possible espionage attacks.
- Do not install apps outside the store: Using only Google Play or the App Store, we will be safe from malicious attacks.
- Be careful who uses the smartphone: in a matter of seconds, someone can install an app that allows them to spy on us completely.
- Be careful when browsing the Internet: We must be very careful with the web pages we visit, especially if we download other files that are not just apps as in the previous case.
