In the upper part we will see four tabs with the different functions that it incorporates:

downloader: It is the one that will interest us mainly because it is from this section that we will download the videos.
screen recorder: from here we will be able to record the screen, both full screen and through a window or in a specific area.
videoconverter: This section will be very useful for converting videos to other formats so that they are compatible with all types of devices.
DVD/BluRay/CD Creator: the program has the possibility of being able to record the videos that we download on different optical discs and from this section we can carry it out.
audio capture: this utility will help us to capture and record audio on our computer using the microphone. In addition, it allows you to configure it and record it in different formats.

Next, we will talk about the different sections that this complete program has, becoming an all-in-one tool, with which we can not only download videos, but also have other series of interesting options that will avoid having to download another program at the time we want to use it.

Downloader

This section will be where we find the main utility of this program and the reason for downloading it, such as the possibility of downloading videos from different platforms. The process couldn’t be easier. We simply copy the URL of the web where it is hosted and paste it in the “URL of the video” section.

Once this is done, we display the “Output Profile” tab in case we want to convert to a different format than the original. We will have an immense list of formats to choose the one that may interest us the most. We can also choose the path where it will be saved by clicking on “Save in”.

Next, click on Download and a new window will appear where it will give us the possibility of choose a different resolution. From this section we will be able to convert any video that we have to other formats. To do this, just press the Add button to add the video to the interface. Later we will select the output profile, displaying its menu. We will find a large number of formats to choose from, so all that remains is to choose the desired one. Later we can change the folder where the resulting file will be saved and once everything is ready, click on the Convert button.

DVD/BluRay/CD Creator

This program also has its own recorder that will allow us to transfer our videos from the computer to any optical disc such as DVD, Blu-Ray or CD. To do this, we will only have to drag the video or videos and drop them in the program interface or click on the “Add” button. Later we can give the disk a new name, choose a folder to store the project and the type of disk that we are going to use. Once finished, click on the “Burn DVD” button.

Create custom download profiles

If among the wide range of options available that the application offers aTube Catcher, we do not find the one that best suits our needs (most of them are very outdated), we can create a personalized profile adjusting it to our needs. In this way, we will avoid converting the downloaded video again to adapt it to the resolution and format we need.

To create download profiles in aTube Catcher, we go to the top menu of options and click on profiles and then we select profile editor. In the upper part of the window that is displayed, click on New profile.

The first thing we must do is add a name to the profile (Profile name), a name with which we will be able to identify it in the application. Next to the name, we must create the name of the file with which the profile will be stored on our computer. In this way, we can make a backup copy of the profiles created and import them back into the application if we delete it, format the hard drive or want to share the profile with other people. These profiles are stored inside the application installation folder, in the Profiles folder.

In section Video settings, we can establish the BitRate, the resolution, the aspect resolution, the video codec that we want to use, the frame rate and the synchronization of the video mainly. If we check the Remove video box, only an audio file will be generated, as long as in the Output format section, we select an audio extension for the file.

In the section audio settings, the application allows us to configure the audio section so that the audio is reproduced in stereo or mono, adjust the BitRate and the codec that we want to use. If we want to use this profile to download audio from YouTube videos or extract audio from audio files, we must select the best possible quality.

We can use the profiles available in the application to guide us when creating the new profiles, taking into account the options available through the application depending on the codec that we are going to use.

Finally, we find the section output format. In this section, we must establish the output format that we want the profile to have depending on whether it is an audio or video format, set the maximum limit of the file and the maximum duration in seconds. Finally, click on Save Profile.
