WhatsApp continues to implement small functions to the app that make it increasingly versatile. Although many of us use WhatsApp to send all kinds of content to our contacts, such as photos, videos or even PDFs, sometimes the process can become somewhat tedious when we have to transfer the same file to different chats. Luckily, you can now download WhatsApp 2.16.231 beta for Android where the option to select more than one chat when sharing a file has been enabled.
Furthermore, this version has already officially included the fact that it arrived on iOS a few days ago. This is a new function that we can use when a person does not pick up a VoIP call through the messaging app.
Send the same file to different chats at once
Once again, we are facing one of those small functions that increase the user experience, although they do not mark a before and after like the expected video calls, which will appear in 2017 according to the newspaper El País.
To start using sending to multiple contacts we have to do these steps:
1. Have WhatsApp 2.16.231 or higher installed (links at the end)
2. Search the gallery or explorer for the file to share
3. Share it to WhatsApp.
4. By touching the profile photo, we select the chats to which we want to send the photo.
5. We press the green tick to send the file to the conversations.
You will notice that now a new section called ‘Frequent Chats’ also appears where the conversations in which we have participated the most appear, divided into ‘Recent Chats’, which are where we spoke for the last time. This screen appeared a few updates ago.
It should be noted that we can share one or more files at a time using this same method, as well as when selecting multiple chats, it does not matter if they are individual or group conversions.
With this new process, sharing photos or any other file becomes much faster since until now, if you wanted to share something through WhatsApp to more than one person or group, you had to send it to them and, or from there share it to other chats or repeat the process again.
Voicemail is now officially on Android
Voicemail is one of the functions recently launched by the messaging app. Basically, it is a voice message like the ones we use in the application, only that WhatsApp will give us the option to record it if the recipient declines a call or does not pick it up.
On the other hand, the Android version has yet to receive the release that they arrived on iOS in one of the latest updates. Looking to the future, video calls, two-step authentication, a photo editor, sending GIFs and mentions, among other features, should arrive.
