March continues with a high price on the main energies (gas, gasoline, butane, electricity…), despite the decrease compared to the last day on Tuesday that left the price on electricity. Direct consequence of the prices of the , but also of the high cost that the electric ones have been adding as well as the scarce measures of the Government, this fact has caused that in the face of domestic consumption, it is vital to know when it is more profitable to use certain electrical appliances (iron , washing machine, dishwasher, oven…) since their consumption can vary, assuming significant savings.
As shown by data from , the organization that manages the electricity markets of Spain and Portugal and collects their rates, the average price of electricity in Spain this Sunday, March 13, is 247.89 euros/MWh. Very high figures when compared to the price set a year ago, when the MWh cost 24.54 euros.
At what time is electricity cheaper?
With regard to the daily variation, the ‘cheapest’ section is concentrated at dawn until settling at 174.51 euros/MWh in the section between 04:00 and 05:00.
At what time is electricity more expensive?
On the contrary, as night falls, the price rises to 389.9 euros/MWh (between 8:00 p.m. and 9:00 p.m.).

Why does the price of electricity vary so much?
This constant increase in prices, as well as its variation, is due to the higher cost of gas in international markets, which is used in combined cycle plants. As these are the most expensive, they are the ones that, in general, mark the price in most hours.
Direct consequence of the conflict with a supplying Russia, due to the obstacles, which affects the pockets of consumers on the electricity bill.
