As shown by data from , the organization that manages the electricity markets of Spain and Portugal and collects their rates, the average price of electricity in Spain this Sunday, March 6, is 379.03 euros/MWh. Very high figures when compared to the price set a year ago, when the MWh cost 47.05 euros.

With regard to the daily variation, as usual, the cheapest sections are concentrated both in the early hours of the day and in the early hours of the afternoon. The first ones are the cheapest, highlighting the section between 03:00 and 04:00 when the price reaches its lowest figure, reaching 334.21 euros/MWh.

On the contrary, the central hours of the morning as well as those closest to dusk represent the highest cost, reaching 470.01 euros/MWh between 8:00 p.m. and 10:00 p.m.

Why does the price of electricity vary so much?
