Is named F3 Cool and is sweeping the younger audience. We are talking about complementary to Instagram, but it has its own feed, search engine and private messages, so it can be considered as a real social network. Its launch is recent, but it exceeded one million downloads last year and is currently at the top of popularity on Google Play, with very positive reviews. For all this we wanted to dedicate an entire post to it.
What is F3 Cool and how does it work?
F3 Cool, as we were saying, is an application (available for iOS and Android) that works (and has an interface) very similar to that of Instagram. It is mainly based on a question-answer dynamic: the user can ask questions anonymously and respond with text, photos or videos.
To test it we have created a profile through an email address. But if you want you can also register through your Twitter or Facebook accounts, with the advantage that the latter allow you to access and obtain your friends lists.
The platform asks for our date of birth (users must be over 13 years old) and suggests friends. This is the first step to share our profile with other users. There are several ways to do it:
- On the home page you will see, as we said, suggestions of friends and people close to you (based on the location of your mobile).
- If you click on the magnifying glass icon, you will see several options appear. One of them is that of Share Profile, which will allow you to obtain the link to your profile to share, for example, in your Instagram Stories. But also share the profile directly on Facebook, WhatsApp or Messenger. And even get a QR code from it.
- If you have not connected your account through Facebook, you can also search for your friends on the social network through the magnifying glass icon. Or do it by your username.
Once we have made some contacts, we see that F3 Cool gives us the possibility of sending direct messages. Either through the home screen, by clicking on the icon in the upper right corner (as in Instagram), or through the F3 Stories, which we will now see, by clicking on the same message icon.
The questions and Stories of F3 Cool
The questions from our contacts appear on the home screen of the app, with an aspect similar to how Instagram Stories appear. If we click on them we can interact with other questions, private messages and likes.
We can also create our own questions by clicking on the green + icon located in the bottom bar, with the possibility of hiding our name if we wanted to. Then we click on Following and the application shows us the complete list of added contacts so that we can choose the recipient to whom we will send it.
What are we who receive questions? Easy. In the lightning button on the bottom bar we see the notifications and we can respond to them by clicking on them. Either through the mobile camera or with text, but in general with a component of originality greater than that of similar platforms such as Ask.fm. This answer will be uploaded to our F3 story.
Random questions and the application’s question of the day will also appear on this same lightning button.
Once our questions or answers have been published, a bar is displayed with the icons of others such as Facebook, Twitter or Instagram, so that we can share if we want. If we choose the latter, we can see our F3 story in Instagram stories. And if we want to highlight it, the procedure is the same as that of Instagram, accessing from our profile. In any case, F3 removes questions and answers after 72 hoursa slightly longer term than other apps.
As you can see, F3Cool is a familiar social network with a curious and dynamic operation. How about? The success among teenagers seems to be proven and perhaps it is one of those apps that go beyond passing fads. Time will tell.
