In recent months we are seeing how many Spanish platforms have stopped working overnight, without prior notice, platforms that, by offering access to paid content without using the usual channels of the corresponding platforms, have caused many users to lose the money, when the Civil Guard or National Police have arrested those responsible. This does not happen with platforms of this type that operate from outside Europe, such as China, forcing the authorities to focus attention on users.
Generally, in terms of piracy, the end user or client has never been penalized, as long as the content was for their own consumption and without profit. Games, series, movies, music… whoever downloads and consumes it has never been responsible (beyond morality), since they have always gone either to the download websites that offer the content, or through intermediaries who dedicated to making money with it (for example, those who sold prepared Boxes).
At the end of 2002, a piece of news was published in which the Italian Guardia di Finanza (which is something like a tax police there) began to send letters, with fines, to more than 1,500 people who consumed this type of content. The fine is 154 euros (which drops to 51 for early payment) but, in case of recidivism, this could increase up to 1032 euro.
For now, this has only been a first wave, and it is very possible that many more cases will arrive soon, at least in that country. In Spain, for the moment, there has been no case of these. However, as soon as a country starts, and it is seen that the measure is successful, it is very easy for something similar to end up arriving in our country. Therefore, it is necessary to know how to avoid it.
Avoid being fined for using IPTV
We do not know if, for the moment, the security forces of the Spanish state intend to follow the same operation as the Italian government. Just in case, prevention is better than cure. The first thing we should do is be wary of Telegram channels from where these types of lists are sold. Unless it is a channel that has been in operation for several years, we can fall into a channel that is managed by the police or Civil Guard to trap users who are looking for lists of this type. If we want to avoid the risk, it is advisable to use providers of IPTV lists that come from China, such as those that we can find in AliExpress.
Also, if we want to prevent them from detecting the use of these platforms through our operator, we must use a VPN so that it does not know what we are doing with our Internet connection, hiding all our traffic so that no one else but us and our VPN provider knows what we’re getting into.
