Today we are going to teach you activate self destruct on Telegram. A function that allows us to make our conversations much more private and tell or send photos and videos that will be automatically deleted after a time set by you.
Something that happens to many of us is that we speak in a chat (either, WhatsApp…) and we almost never remember to empty the chats, so we can accumulate hundreds of messages. Or, also, we want to tell something or send a photo or video that self-destructs after a stipulated time. Well, today’s tutorial will allow you to do it.
Telegram has a very interesting option that will do this work for us. The application will be in charge of deleting the messages automatically after a small configuration that we have to make in the chat. Without a doubt a very interesting option.
How to activate message self-destruction on Telegram:
The first thing we have to do is enter the app and start a chat. To do this, click on the pencil icon inside a square, which appears in the upper right.
Once we click on this option, all our contacts will appear where we will have to choose the person with whom we want to share that ephemeral content. By doing this, the chat opens and we must click on the profile image of that person that will appear in the upper right part of the screen.
From the menu that we see, we have to click on the button “Further”, characterized with 3 points. Now we will have to choose the option «Start secret chat»:
Once created, if we want to activate the self-destruction of messages we will have to click on the following icon:
Now the option will appear “To turn off” and the times we want these messages to be valid. Choose the one you want. Keep in mind that if you put in little time and the message is long, you will not have time to read it. That is why we must keep this in mind. The time range goes from 1 to 30 seconds and, in addition, the options for one minute, one hour, one day or one week appear.
Once we choose the time interval, we will have to exit this menu and we will already have the self-destruction activated, which will be reflected in the chat by means of an informative message.
The message or messages are sent, and as soon as the other person opens them in the chat, the time will begin to count until the self-destruction occurs.
Be careful when taking screenshots because they are recorded in the chat. They are also recorded, in the same way, if you record the chat screen. It is one of the features of Telegram’s secret chats.
Self-destruction of photos and videos:
It is curious the way in which photos and videos self-destruct in this application. We send them and the person who receives them will show them this way.
To see the photograph we will have to click on it. By doing so we will see a fuse in the upper right part of the screen that is activated that will delete the image after the stipulated time has passed.
The same thing happens with the video, but if its duration is greater than the self-destruction time, it will allow us to see it in its entirety, but when we finish viewing it, it will be deleted.
Once we open both photos and videos, if we exit viewing when the countdown is activated, the countdown continues until it is deleted.
A wonderful way to share any message, photo, video… safely and knowing that it will be automatically deleted, for both people, after some time has elapsed once opened.
In normal chats there is an option that allows chat only for us, and thus avoid wasting storage space on our device.
We hope you liked this tutorial and that you share it with anyone who may be interested.
Greetings.
