Many of us like to personalize our documents when we create them before sending them to other people. This customization is often like a personal signature, both in the form of the structure of the document and, for example, in the colors used in the document so that it can have a unique look. Word, For example, it has a large number of tools that allow us to adjust the design of the documents to our liking, tools among which is the Word color palette.
The Word color palette is one of those offered by this office suite that allows us to configure the colors that each of the document elements (text, titles, etc.) will have so that we do not have to give the color manually each time we introduce one of these elements, but automatically it always comes out with the same color.
How to choose a color palette for our Word document
By default, Word has a series of default color palettes that allow us to easily change the color of text elements. Using Word 2016 as a base, we can see these palettes within the word processor itself, clicking on the tab “Design” from the toolbar and we will display the Colors panel to see all the default palettes.
As we can see, in this section we can find the default palettes of the modern versions of Officefrom the 2007 and 2010 versions, as well as a wide variety of other predefined palettes that will allow us to give a more personalized and visually pleasing touch to our document.
We can easily switch between them simply by choosing the one we want to use, and we will directly see how the content of our document changes.
Thanks to these color palettes, when we have to change the appearance of a document, we can change it to all of it simply by changing the palette, something much more comfortable than having to manually change all the elements to which we have given color throughout the document .
How to customize our own Word color palette
Although as we have seen by default we have several palettes to customize the colors of each document, it is possible that none of them adapts to what we are looking for. If that is the case, Word also allows us to customize the color palettes so that we can give our document just the look we want.
To do this, at the end of the reference to the palettes, we can see an entry called ««. Click on it and a new window like the following will open, where we can customize the colors of each of the elements of our document.
We choose each of the colors and, at the end, we choose the name we want to give to this new color palette. Now, at the top of the list of color palettes, the one we just created will appear, a palette that we can use whenever we want to format our document.
In the event that for some reason we want to delete this palette, we can easily do so by clicking on it with the right mouse button. Predefined palettes cannot be deleted or modified.
