When we refer to Microsoft, we are talking about a software giant that has a huge number of platforms and programs in its catalog. That is why he sometimes tries to somehow promote some of these in his most successful project, which is none other than the Windows system.
This is something that almost nobody likes, especially if we take into account that we are talking about a paid operating system for which, in one way or another, we have to pay a good amount of money. Hence the different advertisements and promotions that over the years we have found ourselves in different sections of this software, has caused the rejection of the majority. Well, we are telling you all this because at the beginning of this year, 2023, Microsoft began testing certain promotions that users could see in Windows 11.
Since then we have been able to see these promotional messages in different versions and unfortunately starting next month, we will also see them in Windows 10. To give you a better idea of all this, say that these promotions appear when users click on the Start menu icon. From the software giant’s point of view, this action provides quick access to important notifications related to the user’s own account.
This means that Windows users who are signed in with a Microsoft account will see notifications asking them to make a backup. This way they will be able to protect their files and memories.
The Windows 10 Start menu will have promotional messages
In parallel, all those who have logged in with a local account in Windows 10 will find a message in the Start menu advising them to log in with a Microsoft account itself.
This is one of the many movements that Redmonds have been carrying out for a long time to get Windows users to switch to a Microsoft account. All this instead of using a local account, as you can imagine. But that’s not all, in addition to trying to convince us to log in with a Microsoft account, they will also urge us to use the Microsoft 365 office suite for free.
This is something that Windows 11 users have been accustomed to for some time and will soon be coming to Windows 10 as well. In fact, these promotional messages have already been seen in the latest preview version of the operating system. As a general rule these changes are introduced on the fourth Tuesday of the month as an optional update. Later, it arrives on the second Tuesday of the following month for all devices running Windows 10as will happen in this case.
Without a doubt, those appearances or tips that will be seen in the Windows 10 Start menu will not be liked by the majority. However, the software giant believes it’s important to keep its users informed about everything they can do to improve their Windows experience. Hence the advice to use a Microsoft account or make backups.
