Manuel Cosmen Adelaida dies, the great innovator of Alsa

Manuel Cosmen Adelaida, Manolo or Manolín, as his friends called him, died last Sunday night in Oviedo at the age of 85. The one who was a key man of Alsa together with his brother José (Pepe) Cosmen, is remembered by those closest to him as “a very good businessman”, “affable and generous”.

“Manolo was key to Alsa’s innovation in maintenance”, remember those who worked with him. “He created driver training, both active and passive,” they point out, remembering him as a tireless worker who did not hesitate to “get under the truck” if necessary. Subsequently, the Asturian director of Cangas del Narcea left the bus company in the background to dedicate himself to Encosa, a road freight transport company and hotel management, both in the Asturian capital and in Madrid or southern Spain.

“Manolo takes the affection of all those who knew him,” say his relatives. This Tuesday a first funeral will be held in which his family will be surrounded by professionals from the sector and directors of the company, which will be followed by another this Friday in his hometown, Cangas del Narcea.
