OBS Course #4. Profiles and scenes – .com

In this fourth class we are going to learn how to organize ourselves within the chaos by correctly managing the different scenes and managing profiles.

In the previous class we learned about one of the pillars of OBS Studio: knowing the different multimedia sources and captures and knowing how to use them. But if we have practiced enough after the previous class, we will have realized that there comes a point where we have an incredible amount of sources and scenes. We want to have everything!

We will learn how to manage various configuration profiles, as well as how to have multiple scene collections. This is very useful, for example, if we want to have different designs or layouts for each type of content we make. Or if we want to have a unique image for each type of content or even each platform. Let’s start!

After this lesson we are already able to organize the chaos in a scenario with many sources, and to have several configurations and collections of scenes for each occasion. We have also seen how to configure the transitions between scenes, so that when we go from one to another it is something striking and attractive.

As we can see, OBS Studio also allows us to organize the different sources of each scene very well through groups. Likewise, surely we will have wondered by now what happens if we want to export all our configuration and design to another machine. Or if we want to make a backup copy in case something happens.

As we have been able to verify in the two previous lessons, we already have all the clear concepts to configure the image of our broadcasts or recordings.

As a task, get together with yourselves and think about what types of content you dream of doing on your channel. Create a collection of scenes for each of them, and configure each one of them, creatively, as we have learned in these lessons.
