How optimize the footer of our website for SEO?

If you have faced the comprehensive optimization of a web page, surely you have wondered if there is any key to .

Today, we are going to attack this part of the web, one of the most ‘unknown’ or at least one of the most forgotten, both in SEO and in any other discipline that affects our website.

But… does it have any effect on the rankings?

Like any element, always there are ways to get the most out of the footer.

Whatever you do, don’t overdo it

One of the basic rules of SEO also applies to footers: don’t overdo it.

One thing is to put three or four links (or 10, justified) and another is to put 100, all with the same anchor text, pointing to the same page. Remember: when in doubt, keep it simple.

  • Don’t overoptimize it.
  • Do not think that by putting many links to other parts of your website you will position yourself better.
  • Put only links that are truly useful for your users, such as your return policy if you have an ecommerce.
  • Take the opportunity to include additional information: your location, your social networks and even a call to action, subscription for example.
  • Copy whoever is doing well!
