Purge messages in Outlook from IMAP accounts

Outlook emails that you have configured as IMAP work like other email programs. When you delete them you simply mark them as deleted, but they actually remain in your inbox. That is to say, deleting the messages means marking them as to be deleted, but it does not actually delete them, for this you have to purge them.

Purging messages in IMAP folders means that any emails you have marked for deletion are removed from the server. To purge messages in Outlook you have to access the “Edit” menu and select the “Purge deleted messages” option.

This option to purge deleted messages only appears in the editing menu if you are inside an IMAP mail folder.
