The State Public Employment Service (SEPE) regulates the access of these discontinuous permanent workers to unemployment benefits such as subsidies or unemployment, the contributory unemployment benefit.

The agency has reported that these workers can receive an unemployment benefit in the periods of inactivity between the campaigns of discontinuous permanent contracts, explicitly “when they do not work”.
