It’s time to say goodbye to 2016, but not before preparing separate rankings, lists and other paraphernalia that summarize the best that this year has left us. The truth is that in the world of smartphones things have not gone bad at all, so all the more reason to bring you what we consider to be the best mobile phones of 2016, including those of Asian origin.
To do this, we have taken into account five different categories where we have chosen a king from each of them. We hope that the selection of smartphones matches your criteria!
But first of all, we would like to clarify that with ‘Chinese smartphones’ we refer to those terminals that are not officially marketed in Spain or that we can only get online (and not in a physical store). If you want to see the list of the best non-Chinese phones of 2016, we leave it here: .
A selection with the best mobile phones of 2016, yes or no?
The best design | Xiaomi Mi Mix
This year Xiaomi has impressed everyone with its . Okay, maybe it was inspired by the Sharp Aquos Crystal, but the Chinese company has managed to streamline the front of its terminal much more.
“Xiaomi’s bezel-less smartphone” may be a preview of what we will see as the design standard in a while. And if we add to all this top specifications within the high range…
Its official price in China is €475 at the exchange rate, but in importing stores you will see it around €600-800 (and that is if you find it in stock).
Best performance | OnePlus 3T and LeEco Le Pro 3
If the OnePlus 3 already hit the table, it came to polish and improve some aspects of the terminal. This phablet increased its performance with the 2.35GHz quad-core Snapdragon 821 processor and 6GB of RAM, for 64 or 128GB of internal storage, to be chosen by the user.
The OnePlus 3T can be officially purchased in Spain through its website, at a price of €439 for the one with 64GB of internal storage.
Another that also uses this same combination is, a brand known for launching smartphones with the latest in terms of performance.
You can find this equipment for approximately €380 in online import stores.
The best camera | Kodak Ektra
Kodak, the well-known brand dedicated to the world of photography, surprised this year with its new. In this case it could be said that we have a camera attached to a smartphone, with a 21MP sensor, f/2.0 aperture, OIS stabilizer and PDAF focus, with HDR technology and 4K as the maximum resolution to record video.
In addition to its manual mode, it integrates several types of tools to give another touch to the shots, such as the Bokeh effect, panoramic mode, portrait, macro…
This Kodak Ektra could also be in , where we include the iPhone 7 Plus and Google Pixel. The Kodak Ektra is now on sale for €449 on the official Kodak Phones website.
The best compact | Sharp Aquos mini or iPhone SE
In this case we are not betting on a Chinese either, but rather on a Japanese. It is the best high-end Android compact that you cannot buy, since it is only sold in Japan.
This Aquos mini has measurements of 126 x 66 x 8.9 mm for a 4.6-inch screen at FullHD resolution, which results in a high density of pixels per inch. Inside is the six-core Snapdragon 808 processor, accompanied by 3GB of RAM and 16GB of expandable storage.
In Japan it is on sale for €391 in exchange, so if you plan to travel, remember this little one.
On the other hand, in the Apple field there is the iPhone SE that we have also chosen.
The best phablet | Xiaomi Mi Max Prime
If we opened the list with one Xiaomi, we closed it with another. The , an improved version of the Mi Max, is a perfect mid-range with a 6.44-inch FullHD screen, for a mobile size of 173.1 x 88.3 x 7.5mm; a lifelong pocket buster.
This mobile is accompanied by an eight-core Snapdragon 652 processor plus 4GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage, so it won’t be about memory. You can get this Xiaomi Mi Max Prime for around €300 in import stores, although the standard 2+16GB model is practically half price.
