The brothers of Antonio Anglés transfer gas stations before his trial for extortion

Three brothers of the most wanted fugitive in Spain (Antonio Anglés, in 1992) are summoned this Tuesday at the Valencia Court along with a fourth accused to be tried for the alleged extortion of a businessman so that he would give up his participation in a gas station in Yecla (Murcia). They are Carlos M., Roberto M. and Mauricio M. -they no longer use the surname Anglés- and Manuel R, who come to the hearing after carrying out various commercial movements.

Carlos has divested himself of his stake in the gas station in question, Carburantes del Siglo XXI SL, as well as a real estate company that his sister Kelly now manages, Valgrup 2013 SRL. For his part, Mauricio has done the same with another fuel firm, Gasolinera Low Cost Vinaroz SL.

According to the accusation of the prosecutor in the case, Carlos, Roberto, Mauricio and Manuel set a trap for businessman David R., whom they accused of having stolen 500,000 euros that Carlos kept in his car. Specifically -always according to the prosecutor’s brief- they extorted him on December 21, 2017 at Carlos’ house in Massanassa. They resorted to a pistol, an electric pistol and a syringe until the victim agreed to go to a Benetússer notary’s office to assign Carlos his stake in Carburantes del Siglo XXI SL.

The subsequent complaint of the facts by the attacked led to the search of Carlos’ home, in which the Drug and Organized Crime Unit found 78 grams of hashish, 19 grams of heroin and two doses of cocaine, as reported by the newspaper Las Provincias, which revealed that the car in which Carlos would have hidden the half million euros was a Ferrari and pointed out that Udyco is investigating whether the accused have enriched themselves through drug trafficking. The prosecutor requests for them sentences ranging from 5 to 12 years in prison.

Transfer to a Valencian businessman

Beyond the possible illicit activity, the defendants Carlos and Mauricio have several companies in their name, according to the public information on both deposited in the commercial registry. The two, in addition, have registered a recent activity. Carlos, the youngest of the Anglés brothers (40 years old), has transferred his stake in the aforementioned Carburantes del Siglo XXI SL, which passed in October 2019 into the hands of an investment company in which a businessman from the real estate sector participates. Valencian.

Asked about it by elEconomista, the businessman refused to comment on the operation by which he acquired the gas station from Carlos M. and David R. The firm was headquartered at Carlos’ home in Massanassa and invoiced more than 575,000 euros in 2017 , the last financial year for which the company’s accounts are recorded.

The company has passed into the hands of his sister Kelly Anglés

In addition, a few months before disposing of the gas station, Carlos M. also ceased as the sole administrator of Valgrup 2013 SRL, a “real estate agent” company that has tangible assets of around 232,000 euros and has its headquarters in the same Massanassa domicile.

In this case, the fact is that the company has passed into the hands of her sister Kelly Anglés, who has been the sole administrator of the firm since July 2019. Kelly M., as journalists Genar Martí and Jorge Saucedo confirmed in their book El Fugitiu, owns several properties in Valencia and lives on their income. In the Mercantile Registry she also appears as the sole administrator since 2008 of the company Multicurrency Internacional SL.

Carlos M., on the other hand, maintains two companies in his name: Restaurante Valencia Cánovas SL -from which hangs a food establishment located near the city square that gives it its name-, and Inversiones Bit Fit SL, which seems to a holding company, based in the same registered office in Massanassa. The participation in Carburantes del Siglo XXI SL depended on the latter.

1.7 million in gasoline

Mauricio M., 42 years old, made the most recent business move. It occurred last February 2020, when he stepped down as the sole administrator of Gasolinera Low Cost Vinaroz SL, now managed by a third party, David M.

In this company, which also shares its headquarters in Massanassa with the companies of his brother Carlos M., Carlos himself and the man also accused in the extortion case, Manuel R., were also represented. According to his public accounts, this gas station operated Much better than Yecla. It billed around 1.7 million euros in both 2017 and 2018. The first of these years gave 434,000 euros of profit and, the second, 12,500.

On the other hand, Mauricio M. continues to lead the Gasoil Gaso SL companies, which looks like a manager, based in Catarroja; and Top Clinic Capilar SL, a company based in Massanassa dedicated to hair transplants and other aesthetic treatments.

Urbanization with private security

The business heritage of Carlos and Mauricio M. reveals a significant social advance on the part of both, members of a very humble family that came to the forefront of the media in the 90s for the terrible crime of which their brother is accused. Their status has grown so much that at least one of them resides in a well-known urbanization in Picassent with private security. However, the crimes they are accused of and the substances found in Carlos M.’s house now raise suspicions about the origin of the wealth they have generated in recent years.
