The Court of Auditors archives the investigation for the rescue of Plus Ultra as it does not see signs of accounting deviation

The Court of Auditors has archived the investigation initiated last June as a result of a complaint by Citizens for the rescue of the airline Plus Ultra for 53 million euros by the fund of the State Society of Industrial Participations (SEPI), they have informed Europa Press sources of the complainant formation.

Thus, he discards the thesis of the orange formation on an alleged undermining of public funds. On the part of Ciudadanos, it is planned to present an appeal against this decision, add the same sources.

The complaint was presented by the president of Cs, Inés Arrimadas, her deputy spokesperson in Congress Edmundo Bal and her MEP Luis Garicano on June 7.

Citizens had called on the supervisory body to investigate the responsibility of all authorities for this operation to resolve whether there are accounting infractions, purge how much money has been diverted and ensure the return of the money to the public coffers.

The admission of Citizens’ complaint led to the opening of a piece of Public Action and the appointment of an instructor from the Prosecution Section of this body, who has finally found no evidence and has filed the proceedings.

Suspension of the ransom

The matter is also in the hands of the ordinary courts. Last week, the head of the Court of Instruction Number 15 of Madrid, Esperanza Collazos, and that they should be disbursed on July 28, so that the company proves that it really needs this loan to pay creditors.

According to the judge, “the disbursement of the amount of 34,000,000 euros, as a participatory loan scheduled for July 28, within a viability plan for the Plus Ultra company, must be justified, taking into account the existence of this judicial procedure.

In addition to appealing this file, Citizens could reserve to re-file an action against this aid in the Court of Auditors in the event that the company does not return the loans received after the judge’s decision to paralyze them.

From this part they disagree with the decision of the Court of Auditors, by understanding if you lend to someone insolvent who you know is not going to repay the loan and who in our opinion does not meet the requirements, you are already causing damage to the public treasury.

Plus Ultra celebrates the decisions of the courts

The airline has celebrated the decision of the Court of Auditors to file the investigation, as well as the pronouncements of the Supreme Court and the European Union in a similar sense.

In a statement, Plus Ultra affirms that the opinions of the three institutions show “the lack of foundation of the false accusations that are being poured unjustifiably from different spheres for months on the Spanish airline” and points out that the accusations respond to a “political battle against the Government for which it is being used “unjustifiably as a throwing weapon”.

Plus Ultra Líneas Aéreas is “absolutely calm” with the “exhaustive and scrupulous” compliance with each and every one of the requirements established by SEPI. It adds that in relation to the case being investigated by the Investigating Court number 15 of Madrid, it is collaborating “fully” in the open proceedings to clarify all the points that are considered necessary and “with the conviction of the correct action of SEPI and the company” in the application, processing and resolution of the financial support file.
