Milk is one of the essential foods in any home thanks to its great nutritional value. It is rich in proteins, vitamins A and D, folic acid, phosphorus or calcium, among others.
Of all the types of milk available on supermarket shelves, the favorite among consumers is semi-skimmed milk, which contains between 1.5 and 1.8% fat (OCU).
“The semi-skimmed, versatile and complete, is the most consumed by Spaniards: it is preferred in 30% of households, compared to 22% of the whole and 20% of the skimmed,” says the organization.
For this reason, OCU has drawn up a list of the best semi-skimmed milks, according to criteria such as composition, quality parameters, possible fraud, hygiene measures and, of course, taste.
The best: the one from Hacendado
Thus, semi-skimmed milk from Hacendado (Mercadona) has obtained the best score, with 78 points out of 100. Analysts have especially valued its creaminess and intensity of flavour. In addition, for experts, its price is quite cheap. For all these reasons, it has obtained the seal of ‘master purchase’.
The good shepherd was second in the ranking, with 76 points out of 100. In this case, its hygiene and nutritional value “completely sterile and without any bacterial growth” have earned it five stars in the comparison. Other aspects, such as its processing or tasting, have not obtained the best score.
In third place, with 75 points out of 100, is Clesa Bienatur, with the maximum number of stars for its nutritional quality, processing quality and hygiene.
It is followed in the classification by Llet Nostra milk, with 71/100; Beyena, Pascual and Alipende, with 70/100; Eroski, with 69/100; and Cremosita and La Vaquera, with 68/100.
