2021 ended with employment, although many questions remain to know how the labor market will definitely turn out when the pandemic is overcome.
There is no doubt that the job market has changed with COVID. From teleworking, through professionals who are in greater demand today and sectors that have been more affected while others
Infojobs, the job search platform, has drawn up a ranking that reflects which jobs and sectors were the most demanding at the end of the year that has just ended.
The 10 most demanded jobs in Spain
The first three positions in the ranking of the most demanded positions are held by telemarketers, commercial representatives and delivery vehicle drivers. The software developer profile also appears, in eighth position, with 4,800 vacancies. In addition, dependents remain in the ranking (fifth place), with more than 6,400 vacancies.
Of course, more demanded does not mean that they have less competition or better salary. In fact, 40% of the vacancies offered a fixed-term contract and 25% an indefinite contract.
This is the complete list:
– Telemarketer
– Trade Representative
– Delivery driver
– Warehouse worker
– Dependent
– Laborers of manufacturing industry
– Customer service agents
– Software development
– Administrative
– Forklift operator
Among the vacancies registered in InfoJobs, a total of 78,215 jobs were published that offered fixed-term contracts, representing 40% of the vacancies that reported on the type of contract. On the other hand, contracts of indefinite duration, 47,802, represented 25% of the total on the platform.
In December, with regard to the type of shift to be performed, vacancies that offered full-time shift predominated, representing 59% of the total. 20% of jobs offered part-time.
The coronavirus increases hiring in Health and Education
The Commercial and sales categories, with 17.1% of the total vacancies; Purchasing, logistics and warehouse (15%) and Customer Service (12.1%) account for nearly half of the vacancies in December (44%).
The only category that has grown compared to November is Education and training (+38%), with more than 4,500 vacancies. The figure is significantly higher than the number of vacancies registered last year (3,900) and in 2019 (3,800), and is explained by the reinforcement of the teaching staff that many centers have had to carry out these days due to the avalanche of casualties caused by omicron.
In any case, if we compare the jobs offered with those registered in December 2019, we observe that Purchasing, logistics and warehouse doubles the number of vacancies in this month (the first adds more than 29,000, almost 17,000 more than two years ago) . In addition, others such as Retail sales (+45.5%), Customer service (+27%) and Commercial and sales (+25.5%) reap very significant growth compared to said pre-pandemic period.
The categories that have performed the worst in the last month are Marketing and communication, which fell by 36% (3,200 vacancies) and Tourism and restaurants, which fell by 34% (11,400 vacancies), affected by the restrictions and limitations derived from the sixth wave.
Finally, this December there is a category that maintains the number of vacancies compared to last month: Health and health, which with 6,600 vacancies falls just 1%. Despite the casualties among health professionals caused by covid, work overload and retirements, the rebound in cases that the omicron variant has meant has forced, in many cases, to expand the templates or renew part of the reinforcement contracts .
