These are the pensions that will rise between 63 and 94 euros until the end of 2022

The Government continues to implement measures to try to curb the impact of the price rise crisis generated by the war in Ukraine and the increase in the cost of energy. One of the latest, linked to the approval of the reform of the public pension plan system, has been the increase in non-contributory pensions by 15%.

This increase has been agreed with EH Bildu and entails that temporary increase of 15% in the amount of non-contributory pensions at least until December 31. In the absence of its approval, this measure will affect more than 444,800 people, according to the .

Non-contributory pensions can be retirement or disability pensions and are paid to people who have not contributed enough to get a contributory pension with the aim of guaranteeing “an economic benefit, free medical-pharmaceutical assistance and complementary social services” , explains the IMSERSO website.

The impact of this 15% increase in contributory pensions will be between 63 and 94 euros, depending on the type of benefit received by the pensioner. Without taking into account the effects of the increase, the monthly expenditure on these benefits is around 196 million euros, .

The 2022 Budgets contemplated these non-contributory pensions, as well as the minimum pensions and the Minimum Vital Income. On these amounts of benefits, the 15% increase would have to be executed if it is finally approved:

-Non-contributory retirement pension: 421.40 euros per month, which could be about 484 euros per month.

-Non-contributory retirement pension of 25%: 105.35 euros per month, which could be around 121 euros per month.

-Non-contributory retirement pension in the case of several beneficiaries in the same family unit: 358.19 euros per month (about 411 euros per month with the increase) if two people coincide and 337.12 euros per month (about 387 euros per month with the increase) if three or more people coincide.

-Non-contributory disability pension: 421.40 euros per month, which would remain at about 484 euros per month with the increase.

-Non-contributory disability pension with the 50% increase: 632.10 euros per month, which would remain at around 726 euros per month.

-Non-contributory disability pension in the case of several beneficiaries in the same family unit: 358.19 euros per month (approximately 411 euros per month after the increase) if two people coincide and 337.12 euros per month (about 387 euros per month with the increase) if three or more people match.

Requirements to collect the non-contributory retirement pension

-Be at least 65 years old and not have the right to the contributory retirement pension due to not having enough contributions.

-Prove a residence of at least 10 years on Spanish soil from the age of 16. Two of those years must be immediately prior to the application for the pension.

-Not having income of more than 5,899.60 euros per year, although in the case of being part of a cohabitation unit up to the second degree of consanguinity or affinity: a limit of 10,029.32 euros per year in the case of two people, 14,159, 04 euros per year in the case of three people and 18,288.76 euros per year in the case of four or more people. If one of the cohabitants is a child or a parent, the limit amounts rise: 25,073.30 euros per year in the case of two people, 35,397.60 euros per year in the case of three people and 45,721.90 euros per year in the case of case of four or more people.

Requirements to collect the non-contributory disability pension

-Have a degree of disability of at least 65%.

-Be between 18 and 64 years of age.

-Proof of residence in Spain for at least five years, of which two must be given immediately prior to applying for the pension.
