The beginning of the year is usually one of higher expenses, derived from the annual costs as well as the Christmas payments that suppose the fearsome cost of January. However, there is a special case where January traditionally arrives with an extra income called . It happens with pensions and for this 2022 it will be the last time that such payment occurs.
In one of the last appearances of the course, the Minister of Social Security, José Luis Escrivá, announced that the investment allocated to paguillas would reach 1,900 million euros for this new year. A traditional expense for pensioners, who, however, will have their last income for this course when the .
Likewise, Escrivá was in charge of remembering it, and that is that one of the modifications contemplated by the new text is that pensions be updated based on the average CPI of the last year and not based on estimates. That is to say, these aids will already be renewed throughout the course, so it will not be necessary for the Government to undertake such a deviation in January.
Why is the fee charged?
An aid that always arrives with the first month of the year, in order to compensate for the rise in prices and that, in general, is always high as this growth of the CPI is greater than the revaluation carried out by the Executive.
In this way, when there was an increase between December 2020 and November 2021 of one and given that the benefits rose by 0.9%, the difference that corresponds to charge is 1.6% for all pensioners who receive in 14 payments, including the beneficiaries of the Minimum Vital Income.
When is the fee charged?
As is customary with most pension payments, this income is made during the second half of January where each bank has an estimated payment date. Usually on the 25th, this will be the date when the highest income is recorded once again… although it will depend on the bank in question.
How much does the 2022 payment mean?
With all this, for this first month of the year income is expected to be between 220 and 340 euros according to the minimum and maximum amounts applied to each benefit, while for widowhood it will be 166 euros. This is how Escrivá explained it, understanding that this amount is calculated by applying the difference of 1.6% according to what is received annually.
A payment that is dismissed for this 2022, in which pensions will be automatically revalued according to the increase in the CPI, but which leaves a small extra payment for this month of January to help pensioners face the dreaded January cost.
