This will be the payment of the Minimum Vital Income in 2022: amount and when it is charged

Like pensions (in their contributory and non-contributory aspects), the Minimum Vital Income has been revalued with the entry into the new year. For this reason, the beneficiaries of this benefit will have a new monthly amount that, in addition, in the month of January, will be increased even more.

The reason is that the approximately 800,000 recipients of the Minimum Vital Income will receive the ‘payment’ corresponding to the correction of the inflation projection that was made with the last update of the aid and that has been lower than expected. Thus, with the aim that these citizens do not lose purchasing power, compensation is paid to them when annual inflation ends up being higher than expected.

The Ministry of Inclusion, Social Security and Migration that the inflation that was projected in the last update was 1.6%, so it has been below inflation at the end of 2021, which has been 2.5% ( what the parallel increase in contributory pensions has meant).

Thus, and hand in hand with the 3% increase in the Minimum Vital Income (), its beneficiaries will receive the ‘paguilla’ in the second fortnight of this month of January.

It is a very similar mechanism. In this case, it will be the last time it is done, since with it (one of the measures of the ‘Escrivá reform’) these adjustments are intended to be made correctly, having the average inflation of the previous year to raise pensions accordingly.
