A total of 29 people over the age of 75 with terminal illnesses have died in Norway after receiving their first dose of the Covid-19 vaccine, specifically that of -BioNTech, as published by .
Since last Friday, Norway has already received and administered more than 33,000 vaccines, all from Pfizer-BioNTech, and “therefore all deaths are linked to this vaccine,” the Norwegian Medicines Agency said.
“There are 13 deaths that have already been evaluated and we are aware of the other 16,” they have pointed out from the Norwegian Medicines Agency, which in turn has confirmed that “most people have experienced side effects, such as nausea, vomiting or fever.”
Pfizer and BioNTech are working with Norway to investigate their deaths, Pfizer said, adding that “the number of incidents so far is not alarming and is in line with expectations.”
Norway warns of risks
From the Nordic country they have suggested that the Covid-19 vaccines may have too much risk for those who are elderly and terminally ill.
The Norwegian Institute of Public Health has noted that “for those with the most severe frailty, even relatively mild side effects of the vaccine can have serious consequences. For those with a very short remaining lifespan, the benefit of the vaccine may be marginal or irrelevant.”
