One year after CaixaBank and Bankia announced their firm decision to integrate, the last steps towards Bankia’s definitive goodbye are close to being completed. A process that will end with the technological transfer that will lead to the end of the mobile application of the old Madrid entity, which will be the last big question for those who were its clients.
On November 12, the Bankia app will stop working, which will mean that its users will not be able to see their account balance, make transfers or payments or use the different products that it has provided in recent years. A movement that will lead thousands of customers to have to update to the application, where they can continue to enjoy the services of the new entity.
Something similar to what has been happening with traditional accounts, which has been CaixaBank itself who has made all the arrangements by notifying its incoming customers in advance, with the case of the application there will be tasks that fall to these users.
And it is that it will be compulsory, if you want to continue enjoying a mobile app, to download the aforementioned CaixaBankNow application (in the Apple Store or Google Play). Without it, it will be impossible to operate with the account digitally, but for registration all the data will already be updated, so it will be as if it were installed for the first time on a new device.
With which app can I pay?
In addition, as far as payments are concerned, users who use Bankia’s own app to make transfers will be treated equally as those who have Apple Pay or Samsung Pay. Although the latter will be able to continue paying with these, to manage their cards and see their movements, they must have CaixaBankNow. For their part, the former must integrate their cards into this new app in order to carry out these functions.
Bizum
A fact that also affects the telematic payment system by telephone number, Bizum. One of the media that has grown the most in recent months and that will have the largest migration in the history of the company in the change from Bankia to CaixaBank.
CaixaBank will be the one to transfer all the data and telephone numbers of customers who have this service, so no customer will have to worry about it. Of course, first it will be the user who has to confirm to the entity that their data is correct, if not to update them.
Once everything is done, you will have to install the CaixaBank applications to use the bizum payment system and enter with the same username and password that you had in Bankia so that everything will be in order. The last step before the definitive integration that will arrive on November 12.
