WeTransfer is the solution you were looking for, this service allows you to send files of up to 2 GB to whoever you want for free. Here we will explain what it is and how it works.
The digitization of more and more processes in our day to day has made sending files electronically an increasingly common practice, emails are the preferred service, however, these have a limit, for example in Gmail they are 25 MB , so in many cases they are insufficient.
What is WeTransfer?
WeTransfer is a cloud service whose main function is to transfer files over the Internet. In recent years it has been postulated as one of the main services thanks to the speed, ease and efficiency of its shipments of documents and other very heavy files.
This growth is also mainly due to the fact that you can use it without registering, neither to send an item nor to download it. And it is that this service has the free version that allows you to send files of 2GB maximum, but it also has the Pro version that allows sending 200 GB and 1 TB of storage in the cloud for 12 euros per month and the version Premium that costs 23 euros per month and you have both unlimited shipments and storage.
It is important to note that if you decide to choose one of the paid versions, with the annual plan instead of the monthly plan you save up to 17%.
How WeTransfer works
The fastest option if you want to start using WeTransfer is to choose the free option, since it will allow you to send the files without registering or anything, you just have to go to the website and you will be able to send them.
Once here you can either click on the + symbol or drag the files you want to send to the page. When you have all uploaded, you will have to choose where you want to send your files, and there are two options: by email or by a link.
To choose it we have to click on the emoticon of the three dots inside a circle, where we can select Send transfer by email or Get transfer link. If we choose the second option we can send the link by WhatsApp or any other messaging service, in case we choose the email option we will have to write the recipient’s email and ours. The next thing will be to press the transfer button and when it reaches 100% the shipment will have been made.
In the case of the free option, the transfer expires after one week, so after 7 days the receiver will not be able to access them. In the paid versions this does not happen.
There is an app for mobiles and tablets
In the event that you want to send large files from your mobile phone or tablet, you have the option of downloading the WeTransfer app, the operation is almost identical to what you do from your computer.
