Where to watch football next season 2022/2023: Movistar, DAZN and Orange

With less than a month to go until LaLiga begins, fans who want to enjoy it from their televisions must choose a team: which platforms will broadcast the matches and what are their rates?

For this and the next five years (until the 26/27 season), Movistar Plus+ and DAZN. The agreement reached between the two established that each of them will broadcast five games each day, with the exception of three full days exclusively for Movistar. However, the football package offered by Movistar will integrate the new DAZN LaLiga channel from August 1, so those who have it will be able to watch all the matches on the corresponding platform.

This does not mean that both platforms have exclusivity over the matches, since the agreement includes the possibility that other platforms or operators establish their own agreements with Movistar or DAZN (such as Orange or Vodafone, among others) to transmit their content. .

Orange, for its part, has reached agreements to broadcast all the matches of each day. Vodafone, on the other hand, to follow in the footsteps of Orange, but, for the moment, nothing.

Thus, for the moment, fans only on Movistar or Orange, while those on DAZN will have to settle for half the games each day.

Movistar Rates

Choosing Movistar means, therefore, being able to enjoy all Spanish football. However, this option has the drawback that it must be contracted together with the fixed line, the internet and the mobile (the latter, optionally). Let’s go by parts.

In the first place, Movistar requires the contracting of a basic TV package, ‘Movistar Plus + Esencial’, without which others are not admitted. This includes series and premieres, along with more than 80 thematic channels, for 10 euros per month (7.50 for the first four months).

Next, you can choose between several complementary packages, among which are those related to football: the cheapest, ‘LaLiga’, costs 30 euros per month (22.50 for the first four months); the ‘All Football’ package, which includes Champions, UEFA and international leagues, costs 43 euros per month (32.25 for the first four months); Also, there are other more expensive options, which combine soccer with Netflix.

To this, in addition, it would be necessary to add, at a minimum, fiber and fixed line, through different offers conditioned by the speed of the connection, the contracted gigabytes or the minutes of free calls. With all this, the cheapest offer would come out for almost 95 euros (54.9 euros for fiber and mobile + 10 for ‘Movistar Plus+ Essential’ + 30 for ‘LaLiga’). From there, adding mobile lines, higher connection speed, the Champions League or other content makes the package more expensive.

Orange Rates

The offer offered by Orange to watch football is similar to that of Movistar: the company does not allow contracting only the television signal, but rather forces its customers to purchase the entire package (fiber + mobile + television).

The prices vary depending on the number of mobile lines that are contracted (varying between 1 and 4 lines), the connection speed (either 500 Mb or 1 Gb) and the television package. Regarding the latter, Orange allows customers to choose between movies and series, soccer, and streaming platforms such as Netflix and Amazon.

If we opt for the cheapest option (a line and fiber at 500 Mb), the rate applied by Orange is 95 euros per month, with an offer of 71.25 euros for the first four months. In addition, this rate includes a stay period of 12 months.

However, there are combinations that you can take advantage of when changing one of the parameters (add a line, increase the connection speed or add Netflix), since the combination includes the rest of the elements at no additional cost. That is to say, two lines with 1 Gb and Netflix and Amazon only supposes an additional cost of 15 euros (110 euros per month).

DAZN Rates

The DAZN offer, although smaller, is cheaper and simpler. The platform has presented three tariffs. On the one hand, there is the ‘Essential’ package, in which you can see competitions such as Formula 1, Moto GP or the Premiere League, among others. This is offered at a price of 12.99 euros per month or 129.99 euros per year in a single payment.

On the other hand, in the ‘La Liga’ package you can see the famous five games per day for 35 days (remember that the other three are exclusive to Movistar. This second package costs 18.99 euros per month. In addition, DAZN will broadcast the first Clásico (day 9) of the season.

The third option brings together the previous two (‘Essential’ + ‘La Liga’), and is offered for 24.99 euros per month or 19.99 euros per month with an annual subscription.
