Windows 10 Mobile changes the PIN lock system

The new Microsoft operating system for mobile devices brings news regarding the wrong PIN several times. Now, instead of blocking the terminal for a long time. will request a check phrase to return to . Of course, if the PIN is entered incorrectly again, it will be blocked.

Currently on Windows Phone, and also on iOS, when a user the phone is locked for a period of time. On Android, for example, you can type your email and password to unlock your device.

But Microsoft has changed it in Windows 10 Mobile. In the latest Build, the 10166 Released last Friday for developers, the new unlock option is now available. When a user enters the wrong PIN number four times in a row, the system will launch a new screen where you will be asked to enter the check phrase “A1B2C3”. If the user enters this phrase correctly and then enters the wrong PIN again, the device will be temporarily blocked.

Against unintentional errors

This new functionality of Windows 10 Mobile is designed to protect the terminal from errors that the user himself may make when entering the PIN. Does not protect against thieves as the checkphrase is easily writable. Of course, it does allow users to be protected from the annoying jokes of friends who can block the phone for a while just for fun.

Still, it looks like PINs aren’t as practical as we’d like them to be, though Microsoft is trying to make them less annoying with this new option. Of course, it must be taken into account that it is not the first time that Microsoft proposes this system since it was available for a time in Windows Mobile 6.0.
