Technology is a broad concept that deals with a species’ use and knowledge of tools and trades, and how it affects the species’ ability to control and adapt to its environment. In human society, technological advances are a consequence of science and engineering, although several of these advances predate these two concepts. However, a strict definition of; “technology” can refer to material objects of human use, such as machines, hardware, or utensils, but it can also encompass broader topics, such as systems, organizational methods, and techniques.
