An image with a transparent background looks more powerful. You may wonder why? Well, there is no background to distract you. Secondly, you can create a new image by adding the transparent image on top of the larger images to blend them together seamlessly.
Most importantly, you can use any color as the background as it is transparent by default.
That’s why making an image transparent makes sense. But how do you do that without from third parties on Windows? This is where Paint 3D comes in, the updated version of our beloved Paint.
First, you need to remove the existing background by selecting the object. The background can be any color: white, red, pink, black, etc. or any reason. Transparency must then be added, followed by saving the image with transparency.

1. Select an object using the magic selection tool
To do this, follow these steps:
: Open your image in Paint 3D.
2nd step: Click on the Magic Select tool present on the top bar.
Step 3: A check box will appear. Use the corners or sides of the box to select the part of the image whose background you want to change. Then click Next on the right side.
Step 4– Paint 3D will automatically detect the object within the selection. If you are happy with the selection, click Done on the right side. Otherwise, use the Add or Delete tools also present on the right side to modify the selection.
Click the Add tool and select the part of the image you want to add to your selection. Similarly, click on the Delete tool and click on the area you want to delete.

Step 5: After clicking the Done button, you will see a new box appear outside the selected image, indicating that it is now a separate object. You can use the various tools in the box to rotate or flip the image.
2. Remove the background in Paint 3D
There are two ways to remove the background.
Method 1: Remove background
Step 1: With the image selected, drag it off the background with the mouse.
2nd step: Click the Select tool at the top and select the entire background. You will see dotted lines appear around the selection.
step 3: Now click on the Delete button on the right side or press the Delete key on your keyboard.
Step 4: You will see the background turn white. Click once on the object and drag it to the white background.

Method 2: Use a new file
Another way to remove the background is to create a new image. Here are the steps:
Step 1: After the Magic Selection tool has extracted the image, and select on the menu.
2nd step: Click the Menu icon at the top and select New. A pop-up window will appear asking you to save the previous image. Click Don’t Save.
step 3: A new empty image will open with a white background. Right click and select on the menu.
Your copied image without the old background will appear on the white background.

Now it’s time to completely remove the background.
3. Make the white background transparent
Finally, when you have your image on a white background, you can make it transparent. To do this, click on the Canvas option at the top and activate the transparent canvas option present on the right side.

Once this is done, you will see that the white background disappears and your image becomes transparent.
However, we are not done yet. It follows a crucial step of image backup.
4. Save the image transparent
With the background out of the way, it’s time to save our final image. To do this, follow these steps:

Step 1: Tap the Menu icon and select Save As from the Image Format menu.
2nd step: Then you need to be sure of two things. First, the dropdown menu under Save as type should show PNG (Image). If it shows another format, change it to PNG (Image). Secondly, the Transparency box must be checked.
Saving the file in PNG format is extremely important. If you save in JPG format, which is different from PNG, you will lose transparency.

step 3: Finally, click on the Save button. You will be asked to assign a name and choose a save location. Congratulations! Your image with transparent background is ready.
