Meet is not just about using your cameras or iPad to stream videos. Whether you want to give live presentations, pitch ideas, train employees, or do anything that involves screencasting, Google Meet makes it more than possible. But how do you share your screen in Google Meet on iPhone and iPad?
I must admit that Google Meet doesn’t exactly show an option”” clearly visible to start streaming during a video conference (as in ). If you don’t know what you need to do to share your screen on your iPhone or iPad, let’s take a look at the entire process.

Privacy – Activate Do Not Disturb
Before you start screen sharing on Google Meet, it’s always a good idea to consider potential privacy issues. Since Google Meet will stream everything to your screen without exception, plan your screen sharing sessions in advance so you don’t accidentally share personal data with other participants.
For example, a great way to prevent notifications or phone calls from appearing on your screen and leaking sensitive information during a streaming session is to turn on Do Not Disturb on your iPhone or iPad.

You can use Control Center to turn Do Not Disturb on or off, but it’s also best to make sure the feature is set to work even with the screen unlocked.
Go to the Settings app, select Do Not Disturb, and make sure Always is selected in the Silent section. If you don’t want repeated calls to bypass Do Not Disturb mode, you can also set Repeated Calls (in the Phone section) to Off.
Start sharing your screen on Google Meet
Once you start or join a Google Meet meeting, screen sharing on your iPhone or iPad is pretty simple as long as you know what to do. Alternatively, you can share your screen from the beginning when joining a meeting. Let’s look at the two methods below.
Share screen during a meeting
: To start sharing your screen during a meeting, start by tapping the video panel. You will see an icon with three dots in the upper right corner of the screen; press it.
2nd step: In the menu that appears, tap Display Screen.

Google Meet will start a countdown from three to zero. Consider using this time to quickly get to where you want to start screen sharing.
The video on your iPhone or iPad will start streaming a live recording of your screen instead of the camera feed. Your microphone and audio will continue to work normally.
Spot: Tap Stop Streaming during the countdown to cancel the stream.
Share screen when joining a meeting
Step 1: Whenever you are about to join a meeting after entering a meeting code or starting a scheduled meeting, do not tap Join Meeting. Instead, tap Present.
2nd step: You will find a screen with a brief description of how to share the screen; click Continue.
Step 3: Press Start Broadcast. Google Meet will start a countdown from three to zero before starting the broadcast.

Unlike streaming after joining a meeting, this method will mute your microphone by default. Tap the video panel in the Zoom app and tap the Unmute icon to manually mute.
Stop sharing your screen on Google Meet
When you’re done casting your screen, return to the Google Meet app and tap End Presentation. This will end the presentation, but you will still be logged into the meeting, which you will need to exit manually if you wish.
You can also stop streaming without accessing the Google Meet app. To do this, tap the red colored icon in the top left corner of the screen and tap Stop.
As with the previous method, you will remain connected to the meeting despite the end of the broadcast.
Google Meet screen sharing not working
If you tap the Start Cast option when you start sharing your iPhone or iPad screen in Google Meet and nothing happens, it’s likely that a screen time restriction is preventing the feature from working. A grayed out screencast icon indicates this fact.
As long as you have access to the Screen Time passcode for your device, you can remove this restriction by following these steps.

Step 1: Open the Settings app and tap Screen Time. Then tap Content & Privacy Restrictions.
2nd step: Tap Content Restrictions and enter your Screen Time password if prompted. On the next screen, tap Screen Recording.
Step 3: Press Allow.
Return to save your changes. Now you can start casting your screen on Google Meet.
