If you handle numbers regularly, the phone’s on-screen keyboard It’s quite complicated. Switching between alphabetic and numeric keys is unnecessarily tedious. It’s a productivity killer, so I had to find a third-party keyboard app to replace it.
After playing around for a while, I found five great keyboards that not only provide dedicated number lines or alternate number keys on top, but are also a delight to use everywhere. So before you start filling out that form or start working on your next spreadsheet, let’s dive in and check.
1. Quick key
Developed by TouchKey (a subsidiary of Microsoft), SwiftKey is a phenomenal keyboard for the iPhone. It comes with several colorful themes (dark mode, anyone?) and even lets you create custom themes with your photo library.
And with features like swipe typing, expandable quick shortcuts (insert GIFs, photos, emojis, and more), and support for over 150 languages, SwiftKey really surpasses the iPhone keyboard in a big way.
But most importantly, SwiftKey comes with a dedicated number row at the top of the keyboard, which is incredibly useful when quick numbers are at a premium.

Digital Line is disabled by default – to turn it on, simply open the SwiftKey app, tap Settings, then toggle the switch next to Digital Line.
2. cute
Fleksy is another amazing keyboard for iPhone. It comes with dozens of colorful themes (both free and purchasable) that really make everything stand out. And the keys are well spaced, too: if you have large fingers, expect a big drop in unintentional typos.
The keyboard also has a dedicated number row, but you have to activate it, which is done using what Fleksy calls “extensions.” Open the app, tap Extensions, then tap Number Line. So easy.
While you’re at it, don’t forget to try out some of the other extensions, like cursor control, and one-handed control. Hotkeys provide an additional row showing frequently used keys such as emojis and symbols.

3. Google Tips
Brought to you by none other than , Gboard is one of the most popular keyboards. Not only does it come with features like Glide Typing, Emoji Search, Stickers, and Google Translate, but it also comes with support for Google Voice Search, which I think far surpasses the device’s built-in dictation functionality.
Gboard also displays numbers at the top of the keyboard, but not as a dedicated number row. Instead, they function as alternate characters: simply hold down one of the standard keys on the top row for one second to enter the corresponding number.
If you don’t see any alternate numbers in the top row of your keyboard, just go to the Gboard app, tap Keyboard Settings, then tap the switch next to Show number row.
It’s not as convenient as using SwiftKey or Fleksy, but at least you have more screen space to work with and can still enter numbers.
4. climb
If you don’t like Gboard’s data collection attempts, consider Reboard as the perfect replacement. It offers many features such as theme customization, support for GIFs and stickers, emojis, quick typing, image search, video search, etc. And just like with Gboard, it features numbers on the top row that act as alternative keys.

But unlike Gboard, you can enter numbers immediately with a swipe up action instead of holding down, which is actually much more convenient once you learn how to do it. The keys are a standard Reboard feature, so you don’t have to worry about activating them either.
5. Blink
Blink is a simple keyboard, but it comes with a number of nifty features, such as dedicated keys for and entering commas, one-handed operation mode, extended support for all emojis and accented characters, and quick text entry feature. saved fragments.
And when it comes to numbers, you can have a dedicated line of numbers or enter them as alternate characters. In the latter case, hold the key for one second and release it.
To enable a separate number line, simply open the Blink app, tap More keys, and tap Number key line.

It’s surprising that Apple hasn’t yet provided a dedicated number line on the original iPhone keyboard. This could change with the release of iOS 13. Don’t get your hopes up. If this is due to concerns about reduced screen real estate, Apple can at least make the feature optional. EITHER from Gboard or Reboard and add them as alternate characters.
