1. Your privacy settings

A common reason you can’t add someone on Facebook is because of how they might have changed their profile. There are some options in Facebook’s privacy settings that don’t allow you to add someone. If that person has set the friend request privacy to “Friends of Friends” and you don’t have friends in common, they probably won’t be able to send a request.
