Among the challenges of our economy stands out . In Spain there is a very obvious deficiency: since 1980 the average unemployment rate stands at 17%. Specifically, in the last months of 2020, the unemployment rate, according to Eurostat, oscillated between 16.2% and 16.5%, being, together with Greece, the highest in the European Union, which stands at over 7 .6% and doubling that of the Euro Zone, which is 8.4%, and well above other European countries. The Eurostat data corresponding to the month of May 2021 confirm that Greece and Spain share the leadership of unemployment in Europe with a rate of 15.4% and 15.3%, respectively, while in the Euro Zone it stands at 7 .9% and in the Europe of the 27 in 7.3%.
