The State Public Employment Service (SEPE) is still immersed in the process of improving the services it provides to citizens. On this occasion, the change affects the application for unemployment benefits such as unemployment or the various unemployment benefits managed by the body.
, the SEPE has reported that a new application for unemployment benefits has already been launched, simplified and updated to reduce as much as possible the duration of the process by citizens. In addition, the agency explains, the notices of completion of the procedures have also been improved.
From now on, there will be a single application for unemployment benefits to request the contributory benefit, the subsidies or the Active Insertion Income. This new version will reduce the screens “to facilitate the completion of the procedure that you want to carry out,” explains the SEPE.
The new application for unemployment benefits can be found at the SEPE Electronic Headquarters. Accessing it, the citizen must click on the ‘People’ section and then select the service ‘Request your unemployment benefit or subsidy’ (), where you can access the form by clicking on ‘Access applications’.
In order to use this new application model, the interested citizen will have to have a digital certificate (), an electronic DNI or Cl@ve ().
Thus, in the event that the citizen does not have any of these access methods, they will have to resort to filling in the individual pre-application form for unemployment benefits () or in person at a SEPE office, although in that case case you will need to make an appointment (you can find out how).

This new application model for unemployment benefits has been the last of the different changes that the SEPE has implemented in recent weeks:
-On the one hand, the return to normality on the date of payment of the benefits, which will be again, whenever possible, on the first business day. Previously, due to the pandemic, the banks advanced the payment of unemployment benefits but the entities have stopped renewing those agreements. In any case, it is best to check with the corresponding bank.
-The new appointment system, both online and by phone. Thus, the prior appointment request has been updated at the SEPE Electronic Office and the appointment request number has been changed, for attention 24 hours a day, which is now 91 926 79 70.
