Car2Go is now Share Now: open the door to the arrival of shared Mini and BMW in Madrid

The flexible car sharing brands of Daimler and BMW, Car2Go and DriveNow, for which they will begin to operate under the Share Now brand with shared resources and will cause the incorporation of new cars to the 30 cities that they will jointly cover from now.

Share Now now brings together a fleet of more than 20,000 vehicles in Europe and the US with 4 million registered customers. Leading the new company will be Olivier Reppert, former CEO of Car2Go; while David Bartolomé will be the director of Business Development for Share Now Iberia.

Bartolomé explained that the fleet and the Car2Go program will continue to be the same in Madrid for now, however there are plans to expand the service, for which they are exploring the incorporation of BMW and Mini models.

“This is the principle of Share Now. Now we will begin to analyze the situation and decide what combination of BMW and MINI models we can offer to the people of Madrid as part of the fleet,” explains the head of the company in Spain.

The company has explained that during the coming months, the vehicles will carry the name of both brands, Car2Go and Share Now, so that -after this transition period- the new brand will be introduced in all vehicles.
