Correos scans all letters and packages sent in Spain

MADRID, 07 (MEDIA SERVICE)

The Automated Processing Centers of Correos scan all the packages and letters that are sent in Spain to detect, among other things, possible explosive charges inside.

This was explained to Servimedia by a spokesman for the postal entity, who stressed that “now it is done with greater attention” after the various packages with explosives detected in Europe in recent days.

These scans are part of the inspection protocol that passes all correspondence both internationally and within Spain.

As for packages and letters from abroad, the spokesman explained that they all enter through the Barajas airport after passing the previous filters of the Civil Guard, customs and Civil Aviation.

The cargo centers of the airports, in addition to being guarded by the Civil Guard, also have private surveillance contracted by the airlines dedicated to the transport of goods.
