Electricity price today April 3 by the hour: when is it cheaper and when is it more expensive to put appliances

The month of April has arrived, but the price of electricity continues to skyrocket. It is a direct consequence of the high gas prices derived from Russia’s war in Ukraine, an essential raw material to produce light in combined cycle plants, which produce the most expensive electricity. All of this has meant that in the face of domestic consumption, it is vital to know when it is more profitable to use certain electrical appliances (iron, washing machine, dishwasher, oven…) since their consumption can vary, leading to significant savings.

As shown by the data from the Iberian Energy Market Operator (OMIE), the organization that manages the electricity markets of Spain and Portugal and collects their rates, the average price of electricity in Spain during this Sunday, April 3, It is 228.30 euros/mWh, 548.95% more expensive than the same day in 2021.

This price will be transferred at the end of the month to the bill of households that have contracted a regulated electricity bill (also called PVPC). For their part, those who have a fixed-price bill will not be affected by daily increases or decreases in the price of electricity and will pay as agreed in the contract.
