How to enable the screenshot tool in Chrome

Screenshot Editor is an experimental feature available only in some versions of Google Chrome; it has not yet been implemented for all users. Also, it is currently quite unstable and buggy. While some users were able to use the feature without issue, others like us had bad luck on our side.

By default, the experimental screenshot feature is not present in Google Chrome. You must be signed in to Google Flags to enable these features. When we investigate the flags, we find that there are two flags that you need to enable and then restart the browser, as shown below:

Step 1: open Chrome and sign in chrome://flags in the address bar.

Step 2: In the flag search bar, search for screenshots. You will find two flags labeled screenshot. You have to turn on both.

Step 3: Click the dropdown box Desktop screenshots and click Enabled . This will enable Google Chrome’s screenshot feature.

Step 4: Now click the dropdown box next to Desktop screenshot editing mode . Click on Enabled .

Step 5: You can now restart Google Chrome from the notice.
