Google Translate plugin for multilingual website and SEO

Hello! We want to propose the strategy of a multilingual website WITHOUT LOSING SEO POSITIONING.

We had the strategy in mind to use the Google Language Translator plugin, with the annual payment options of:

We do not know if the strategy is correct, due to the type of redirection, or if this would penalize us a lot in SEO and also we would not index in Portugal. In addition to being quite expensive, since we would have to buy several domains and pay for the plugin annually for the number of languages ​​we want. What worries us most is not winning SEO for example in Portugal and losing it in Spain…

On the other hand, we don’t know if the plugin we are using is the right one, or if we should use another type of strategy, so I understand that redirecting different domains to the same website is not very well seen by Google. Or if you just buy the plugin and use ./pt/ would be fine…
