These three browsers have a similar approach on how to mute a browser tab. Each will display that speaker icon within the tab itself. All you have to do to stop the noise is click on the tab icon. It will change from a normal looking volume icon to one with a slash indicating the tab is muted.

You can either locate the volume icon and click on it or right-click on the tab and select mute tab . Where they differ is that Safari also has an active tab mute this option of tab . Until Microsoft brings its browser into the 2020s, the only other thing you can really do is use a different browser or end sound altogether.
To disable playing sounds indefinitely instead of having to turn off each one individually, you can prevent Edge from playing any sound.
