Installation of SSL certificate and redirection from http to https

Hello jhon.

In view now of your answer, it does not seem to be as simple a topic as your colleagues from technical support indicated to me.

Thinking about all this, now I fall into another topic, related to all this and I don’t know what would be the way to resolve it properly.
So, before continuing with the installation of the SSL certificate, and to go step by step, I will present the problem that I am having now, to see if you can tell me what steps I have to follow:

I put you in situation:
The client, for a few years, already has the domain and a website published with another provider.

Now, I have made a new website and I have managed to bring the domain and the new hosting, to .

Right now, what we have at is a temporary address where it recovers the new website, until the DNS changes.

When making the new web page, I have changed most of the urls with respect to the previous web page. (Not all change, but most do)

Thus, for example, we would have the following changes for the same customer service (with http):

Url in old web: (old URL with http)
Url on the new website: (new URL with http)

If you didn’t install the SSL certificate, you would have to do a 301 redirect from the (old URL with http) to the new one (new URL with http)

If I also install the SSL certificate, I would have to make the necessary changes so that this url would be as follows:

Url with SSL: (new URL with https)

What would be the easiest and best way to make these changes?

1.- First make all the changes of the type (old URL with http) to (new URL with http) and after a few days, after checking that everything is correct, install the SSL certificate and make the changes to go from http to https (In this second step, the changes would only affect going from http to https).

2. – Or on the contrary, is it better to do everything at the same time?

This second case seems much more complicated to me, considering that my level of knowledge is quite basic.

I hope I have explained myself clearly so that you understand my query correctly.

Well, once you clear my doubts, I’ll ask you in more detail about the installation of the SSL certificate, as I told you before, I had understood that it was a simpler process

Thank you
