In the second class of the intermediate course on selling on Amazon, we will see the main specific program for brands and all the advantages it offers us.

In business in general, we are already aware of the power of a good brand but at Amazon, being a brand owner is one of the main advantages both present and future, not only because the path that Amazon is taking is very focused in the brands but because, being owners of the same, we have access to some exclusive tools that will enhance our image and, at the same time, its sales.

Throughout the class we are going to go more deeply into the different advantages and exclusive options that Amazon offers us when registering our brand and we are going to see how to register our brand on the Amazon Brand Registry platform in order to have access to all of it. Let’s go for it!

A couple more steps and we would already have our trademark. If Amazon gets a little fussy, we arm ourselves with tenacity and patience and keep insisting and providing documents until we register the brand… The key is not to give up.

As we saw in the Basic Amazon course, one of the main differentiating advantages is access to a large amount of traffic that would otherwise take a long time or invest a lot of money to achieve. Now think that, having our brand registered in Amazon, this traffic will not only see our product, but we will be able to create special sections in which they will be able to see our logo, philosophy and all the brand material that we want.

We have seen the main advantages of having a registered trademark and how to fill out our registration form. We must always remember to have the official documents of the Spanish Patent and Trademark Office at hand and make sure that our brand, if it is new, is already registered. This will save us time when processing with Amazon, since if it is in a “Pending” status it may take a little longer.

As homework, we have to do these first steps of the trademark registration. First, we collect all the information we have from the SPTO to be able to use it in the form. Second, we fill out the form with our data and characteristics. Third, we wait for Amazon’s approval or, in case they deny it for one reason or another, we continue to contact and try to correct errors until our brand is well registered with Amazon.
