Klarna expands the range of services to grow in Spain

Klarna, the Swedish fintech specialized in the buy now, pay later model (buy now, pay later) and which already has 147 million customers worldwide, launches Virtual Shopping, a service that allows users to contact merchants to know better the product to buy. The platform will integrate more than 400,000 retailers with whom it will be possible to contact live by video call with the aim of building loyalty and reducing the volume of returns. In Spain, with more than a million active customers, Klarna aspires to become the favorite way to buy, pay and carry out banking operations, since they plan to diversify the offer for consumers in the coming months, as explained to elEconomista, David Sandström, Klarna’s global marketing manager.

Sandström assures that in Spain there is enormous untapped potential and they are determined to become the favorite way for Spaniards to buy, pay and carry out banking operations, “as we plan to diversify our offer for the consumer in the next period”. Klarna is also investing in its physical growth in Spain, specifically in Madrid, where it has developed a technology center that will create 500 jobs in the next two or three years.

Regarding Virtual Shopping, he explains that it connects online shoppers with experts located in physical stores to receive advice on products through chats and live video calls. “More than 300 brands already have the service and we now integrate 400,000 retailers. Last year, the average response time was just nine seconds,” she explains. This service, in addition to building customer loyalty (there are 21 times more chances that they will make a purchase) also reduces returns. Virtual Shopping is available from this Thursday, in addition to Spain, in 17 markets, and will be extended to the rest of the countries in which Klarna operates this 2022.
