You can evaluate recovering a backup, if you have not made copies, you can do it with CPremote that you will find in your cPanel within the Files option.
When accessing this utility you have several options:
Restore Home: This option allows you to recover the entire Hosting account to the date you choose, taking into account that by using this option you will recover the backup of the entire Hosting account, files, databases, configurations, emails and you will lose any change that you have made since the date of restoration, it is the least used option since it makes a global restoration of the entire Hosting account.
Restore Document Root: This option allows you to recover the public_html directory, where the web files are located, bearing in mind that with this option the entire public_html directory will be recovered, so if you have more than one website in the public_html directory you will be recovering the files of all the webs that you have in the Hosting, the recovery is of files not of the database, to restore the databases you have to use the Restore Database option.
Restore Mail Directory: This option allows you to recover all the email accounts to the restore date you choose, this option is usually used if you have deleted emails or accounts and want to recover the configuration of email accounts and the emails of those accounts, this option It is not usually used since you would lose the new emails that you have not downloaded to the email program you use to download the emails from the server.
Restore File/Directory: This option allows you to restore a certain file or directory, it is the most common option but you have to know which file or directory you want to recover, for example you may want to recover a certain file or a certain directory that you have deleted by mistake.
Keep in mind that this option recovers the files from the backup, of the day you select but it does not delete the current files, you may want to first delete the current files if you want to restore a directory and then run the recovery of the directory that you have deleted.
Restore Database: This option allows you to recover a database, you will have to put the name of the database without the prefix of the account_ for example if we want to restore the database your account_joomla you will have to enter in the database field to restore joomla since the system already uses the account_ prefix to run the restore.
When accessing any of the options you have to enter your email in the Send restore report to email address field, indicate the rest of the fields depending on the option you are using to restore, select the date of the copy you want to restore and click on the Restore button, when you click on the Restore button, a task is generated that can take between 5 and 10 minutes to execute to restore the copy that you have indicated, once the task is executed you will receive an email with the process carried out.

If we want to restore the configuration.php file of our joomla because we have deleted it by mistake:
We will use the Restore File/Directory option, suppose that Joomla is installed in the root directory public_html, we would indicate in the file name:
public_html/configuration.php
If the configuration file that we want to restore was not in the main directory of our hosting, suppose we had Joomla installed in the joomla1 folder, we would indicate in the file name:
public_html/joomla1/configuration.php
Let us suppose that we have edited the files of a Joomla template, we have made a mistake, we do not have a copy of the modified file and we want to recover from the copy the complete directory of the template, if Joomla is installed in the main directory public_html and the template is called template1, we would indicate the name of the following directory:
public_html/templates/template1/
