Adaptive Web Design, or in English, Responsive Web Design, is a web design and layout technique that has prevailed in recent times. It arises from the need to view the same web page content on different devices such as mobile phones, tablets and desktop computers.

The goal is to make the content of the web adapt to the size of the screen, so that the end user can read it comfortably, without having to scroll a lot.

.

  • Responsive web design
  • dynamically served content
  • Use different URL’s for each version

Of these 3 ways, for Google the recommended one is to use responsive designs, since it allows you to use the same HTML code, in addition to also using the same URL, so we make it easier for Google.

Why a responsive web design in my WordPress?

There are many advantages of this type of design, and we have reviewed some of them in this post.
In short, the improvements that this type of design will bring to our website:

  • Improvements in the usability of the website and the , which directly influence the results and objectives of our website.
  • Simplicity and ease of maintenance compared to other optimization solutions for mobile devices.
  • With responsive design we have a single website and template, which in the long run is simple and economical.
  • Increased loading speed, since the fact that certain content is restructured or changed depending on the size of the device that accesses it, makes mobile devices (which generally work with slower mobile connections) load the web faster because they have fewer elements to download to generate the web.
  • It does not negatively affect SEO, since the same pages are the same urls, and we will not have several urls to refer to the page on different devices.
  • In this way we are avoiding duplicating content, which will be beneficial for the positioning of our website.
