What I would advise you is not to do this, you are complicating yourself due to an effect that from my point of view is not worth it.
The normal thing is to use CSS to give the hover effect to the buttons, not images
For example
I suggest you remove the image and leave the input , then with the free input you could apply CSS styles that stylize the button a bit.
