Sell tickets or reservations with WooCommerce – .com

Sometimes there are some different but similar concepts, which can lead to confusion. Two of them are tickets and reservations, which on more than one occasion have messed up some of my clients who want to sell one or the other through WooCommerce.

Tickets are sold so that a public (more or less numerous) attends an event together. For example, a concert, a movie, a skating rink, a field trip, etc. The idea is that there an eventon a certain date, and a public.

Reserves are sold to a person to obtain a service in exchange. It is what is called bookings. For example, a reservation for a hotel room, an apartment, a car rental, a reservation for a spa or spa, or making an appointment with the dentist. And in this case, it is the client who chooses the date. It is true that on some occasions more than one person can attend the same reservation, for example a room for 3 people. But in any case, the reservation is made by a person. So there is a service Y a client.

Let’s now see how the plugin works, which allows us to sell tickets for events. As we can see, we can even create a calendar in which to show the different events (concerts, movies, courses, excursions, theater performances, etc.). The plugin allows us to create an event with all the information related to it, as well as its different types of tickets. (basic, stalls, premium, children, for retirees, etc.).

And now let’s look at the . As you will see, it is another concept, since reservations are to reserve a specific service, such as a room, an apartment, a table in a restaurant or a bicycle rental. Here is a service being offered to a client. Playing with the variations, we can even incorporate a number of adults, children, retirees, etc. And also, it is the client who indicates the date of entry and exit, or the time of entry and exit.

So, I hope I was able to clarify the terms! The idea is that tickets are for fixed date events attended by an audience (concert), and reservations are for services for which a person pays and chooses a date (masseur).

So, that’s all for today! I hope you liked it, and that you find it useful. You already know that the plugins go with technical support in Spanish directly from me. And for any other questions, here I am 🙂

Until next time!
